Spot Landing Challenge for Jan 28 launch at Westside;
The objective of the event is to have their rocket land the closest to the target which can be a flag, a cone or a marker that is designated out in the landing area. Spot Landing is a fun, simple, yet challenging event. The objective is to launch your model and have it land closest to a specified target. The model must land safely.
There are three subsets of Spot Landing:
- Parachute Spot Landing. Model must use a parachute for recovery.
- Streamer Spot Landing. Model must use a streamer for recovery.
- Open Spot Landing. Any recovery device or method (except for radio control or similar) is allowed.
Fees: If you came to a rocket building class or launch in 2016 and paid the rocket club fee, these launches are free to you. If you would like to join, you can come to the shop or launch and fill out a waiver and it is $15 per family or $10 per person for the whole season (bring cash or check or if you need to pay by credit card please go through HR Community Ed because 100% of the fees go to them to pay for launch site). A parent or guardian is expected to be present for children, these are not supervised launches.
